Columbia’s Shameful Class of ’22

Johannah King-Slutzky is a Ph.D. student at Columbia University.

She was also part of the group of Columbia students who smashed through doors to break into a building on campus and barricaded themselves in the building to protest against Israel.

Their occupation of Hamilton Hall was what led Columbia officials to shut down the campus, “blocking off access to everyone but students who reside there and essential employees,” the New York Post reported.

King-Slutzky was not the only one of the protesters there, but she stepped up to speak to press during the occupation.

“Do you want students to die of dehydration and starvation or get severely ill even if they disagree with you?” King-Slutzky asked. “If the answer is no, then you should allow basic—I mean, it’s crazy to say because we’re on an Ivy League campus, but this is like basic humanitarian aid. We’re asking for, like, could people please have a glass of water?”

Not only did she want Columbia to cater to its students’ demands as they made antisemitic comments, destroyed campus property, and prevented security from keeping the building safe, she wanted Columbia to literally cater meals for them.

She admitted that the university was not keeping food or water from entering the building, and reports confirmed that multiple dining options were open on campus at the time.

Columbia University has repeatedly demonstrated that they are either incapable or unwilling to stop antisemitism on campus.
